Another lie that’s going a bit undiscussed: VAT in Mexico is NOT a tariff – it is applied to domestic goods, as well. It’s a sales/consumption tax, and the only things exempt are food, books and medicines. Therefore, it DOES NOT distort trade. This is important, because a lot of pundits are saying Trump did well in his trade discussion. He got the main point completely wrong, yet again. #themoreyouknow

    1. Either he lied or doesn’t know what VAT is, even as an international businessman. Both are vile and ridiculous, but I actually think he’s just that stupid and doesn’t even know how foreign trade actually works.
